Additional information:  Missouri House Rabbit Rescue welcomes a variety of rabbit breeds each year, from the tiny Netherland Dwarf to the massive Continental Giant, and from the sleek Rex to the fluffy Angora. We receive hundreds of calls annually from individuals looking to surrender their pets, often because they received the bunny as a gift or purchased it as a "beginner" pet from a pet store or breeder. Once they realize the amount of work a rabbit requires, they either release the bunny outside or seek to surrender it to a rescue. Our dedicated rescue members frequently assist in capturing these abandoned rabbits. To prevent abandonment, we strive to educate the public on proper rabbit care and the importance of spaying and neutering their pets.This year's calendar was inspired by a large influx of Lionhead rabbits, whose rock-and-roll appearance sparked a creative idea: we decided to make them rock stars. Our calendar features reimagined album covers from the 1950s through the 1980s, with bunnies taking the place of famous rock and roll singers and bands. We carefully selected the perfect bunnies to represent each artist and recreated the sets, many of which took weeks to construct to ensure authenticity.
